Summer at the Theatre of Dreams

This is one of my favorite times of the year. The day after Midsummer's Night, I am already feeling perkier because I know that the rest of the year is in a long process of becoming...Christmas! My heart is a little happier, my mood is one of anticipation. I actually bring out the Christmas music in August! So while I am laying in my hammock, where I rest on quiet afternoons, and a single little dry leaf accidentally drops down on me, I am imagine that Fall has already started, and begin dreaming of winter. I am full of plans and ideas for my next Port Costa Open Houses, and here are the dates:
HALLOWEEN OPEN HOUSE - "LE CIRQUE"
Fri and Sat, Oct. 9 & 10
CHRISTMAS OPEN HOUSE - "BACKSTAGE at the THEATRE OF DREAMS"
Fri, Sat, Nov. 27 & 28
As always, my private workshop and printing studio will also be open for tours during these hours. I will also be open to the public on Fri and Sat Dec. 5, 6 & Fri and Sat, Dec. 11, 12.
ALSO, I am planning two trunk shows this year :
TINSEL TRADING COMPANY, in downtown Manhattan, N.Y., on Oct 15
IRON DOG, in Niles, Ca. ON NOV. 7

Hello
Love your work and follow your blog, I recently started journaling also, I have a shop west of Chicago and it is easier to post what is happening in the shop...and it is fun. Can't wait to see your new designs, I have been carrying your stuff for years.

That hammock calls to me. What a wonderful idea. I can imagine laying beside someone very special and gazing up at the stars. How romantic!

Aside from loving your work it speaks to me that you’re someone I would like very much if I personally met. After reading this post I now can see some of life’s treasures being loved by both of us. I didn’t know how to explain the feeling of relief the other day after a long ailment, but the weather cooled, I started feeling better and even though it signals the starting of school and having my kids not with me I look very forward to creative time and the coming of Fall, Halloween and Christmas! I am a kid at heart and the garden bed you have is like one found in a fairytale. Glad you are blogging.

Hugs Annabelle

Make that 2 votes for you to visit us in the Pacific NorthWest. I know Port Costa is charming, and who doesn't feel invigorated by Manhattan, but we have plenty to offer up here, too. Ah, let's see, there is cool weather, lots of beautiful scenery, friendly people, great coffee and food and wine. And a sense of whimsy. Heck, come ride on the beach with me! Charlotte

I know what you mean. I have found myself drifting into that fall/holiday season mode more often lately. I am a stylist for a retail store and have just completed the fall displays. I was really in a sweater mood by the end of the week and found myself dragging out my own boxes of wonders when the weekend arrived. As always Wendy your delightful designs are featured in our holiday plans. Keep thinking creative thoughts!

Hi Wendy! I am such a huge fan, and happy to discover your blog! I thought I had heard you didn't really "do" blogging so I was thrilled to discover that info was indeed false. Can't wait to keep up with your blog, and hopefully make a trip to the theater of dreams someday~

Loved your spot in Country living this month. As an artist I found it very inspiring. My grandfather was an old time printer and I found it interesting that you hand print all your bags with a press. Very neat!
